Job summary

Bec Recruitment is seeking a time-served Structural Steel Welder for a permanent, long-term role in Irlam, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will be a MIG welder, apprentice trained with NVQ Level 3, skilled in FC wire and welding in various plate thicknesses on complex fabrications.

The role offers early starts 6am-2pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays and Saturdays, and double-time on Sundays.

Qualifications

• Time-served MIG welder with apprentice training and NVQ Level 3.
• Proficient with MIG process and FC wire for positional welding.
• Heavy plate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with complex structural steel fabrications.
• Confidently use hand tools associated with welding both manual and grinding.
• Arc Air gouging preferred but not essential.
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Strictly adhere to all Health & Safety practices and ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.

Hours: 5 days | Monday to Friday, 6AM – 2PM
Salary: £19.32 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Long-Term

• Qualifications: Time-served MIG welder (Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3).
• Technical Skills: Highly competent and confident with the MIG process and using FC wire for positional welding.
• Experience: Heavy plate experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
