Job summary

AJ Engineering & Construction Services is seeking skilled Steel Erectors and Cladders to join our construction team. The role involves safe installation of structural steelwork and external cladding, reading technical drawings, and working at height.

You will work outdoors on sites across the country, comply with health and safety procedures, and cooperate with the site team to meet deadlines. A CSCS card and a full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in steel erection and/or cladding installation.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Experience working at height.
• Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install and erect structural steel frameworks, beams, columns, and bracing systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and site plans.
• Align, bolt, and secure steel components accurately.
• Assist with crane lifts and slinging operations.
• Install roof and wall cladding systems, including panels, flashings, gutters, and rainwater systems.
• Fit insulation and weatherproofing components.
• Maintain weather-tight finishes and carry out repairs as needed.
• Adhere to site health and safety procedures and use access equipment safely.
• Work as part of a site team and meet project deadlines.
