Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Structural Detailer / Tekla Detailer for Leeds-based projects.

You will turn architectural and structural information into accurate Tekla 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings for steel staircases, balustrades, and architectural metalwork. The role covers from initial information to final construction drawings, with responsibilities including producing 3D models, ensuring accuracy, and liaising with clients.

Structural Detailer - Steel Stairs & Architectural Metalwork

When the finished steelwork needs to fit first time, good detailing makes all the difference.

We're looking for an experienced Structural Detailer / Tekla Detailer to join a specialist business designing, fabricating and installing highly engineered steel staircases, balustrades, architectural metalwork and structural steelwork.

You'll be responsible for turning architectural and structural information into accurate 3D Tekla models and detailed fabrication and construction drawings that can be taken from the drawing office through to fabrication and installation.

The Role

You'll be involved in the technical detailing of projects from initial information through to final construction drawings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate 3D models using Tekla Structures.

• Producing detailed fabrication and construction drawings for steelwork.

• Detailing steel staircases, balustrades and architectural metalwork.

• Developing practical detailing solutions from architectural and structural drawings.

• Interpreting specifications, customer requirements and project information.

• Ensuring models and drawings accurately reflect the design and project requirements.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have previous experience working as a Structural Detailer, Tekla Detailer, Steel Detailer, Architectural Metalwork Detailer or Structural Technician.

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures.

• Previous experience producing accurate 3D models and fabrication/construction drawings.

• The ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

• Understanding of specifications and customer requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• The ability to develop practical detailing solutions.

• Good understanding of how drawings translate into fabrication and installation.

• Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage drawing revisions and deadlines.

• Good communication skills and confidence dealing with technical queries.

Experience With Any of the Following Would Be Particularly Relevant:

• Steel staircases

• Balustrades

• Architectural metalwork

• Structural steelwork

• Fabrication drawings

• Tekla Structures

• Bespoke steelwork

• Construction detailing

Previous experience within architectural metalwork or steel stairs would be particularly advantageous, although strong structural steel detailing experience will also be considered.

The Person We're Looking For

You might currently be working as a Tekla Detailer, Structural Detailer, Steel Detailer, Architectural Metalwork Detailer or Structural Technician and be looking for an opportunity to work on more specialist steelwork.

You'll be someone who enjoys the technical side of detailing, takes pride in producing accurate work and understands that a good drawing needs to work just as well in the fabrication shop as it does on screen.
