About the job Structural Project Engineer

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen which is perfect for a Structural Engineer, at Project Engineer Level. This role is the ideal opportunity for a Structural Engineer who holds around 3 years of experience, give or take, and who is looking for a new opportunity within aDesign Consultancy.

My Client is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Construction Consultancy focussed in various areas of bothdesign for the built-environment and construction. They can offer a unique and well-rounded experience to a Structural Engineer and offer excellent Hybrid working arrangements also. (Remote working would be considered for the right person however this would be offered on an individual basis).

Reporting into a Senior Engineer your main duties will include:

• Undertaking site visits, meetings and surveys of projects for the purpose of obtaining sufficient data to prepare structural reports and designs.
• Completing structural reports, structural design calculations and specifications
• Liaising closely with your Line Manager and/or Senior Engineers for mentoring and development.
• Liaising with clients and other third parties to interpret the needs of the design and to communicate on any issues encountered
• Communicating with Technicians to provide sufficient deign information and sketches for them to detail the project.
• Checking the drawings prepared by the Technicians to ensure it matches the design calculations.
• Ensuring works are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Identify the need for further Geotechnical investigation and liaise with Senior Engineers and any other individuals necessary to make suitable arrangements.
• Liaising with the relevant parties in any format to provide all necessary information and supplemental information and respond to enquiries as and when required in a timely manner.
• Ensuring proper management of the filing system, template folders and database to the specification communicated.
• Follow up on leads, enquiries and submitted quotations and invoices within a reasonable timeframe when requested to do so

Software utilised isTekla Building Designer, Tedds, and Idea Statica, experience of this software is desirable but training can be provided.
