Qualifications

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in structural design, preferably within a UK engineering consultancy.
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and relevant structural design standards.
• Experience designing structures in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Familiarity with structural design software, particularly Tekla Structural Designer and Tedds.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Progress towards Chartered status through ICE or IStructE advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Structural design: undertake structural analysis, calculations and detailed designs following UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
• Technical delivery: prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Client and contractor liaison: communicate with clients, architects and contractors to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.
• Construction support: perform site inspections and respond to technical queries during construction.
• Quality and sustainability: deliver cost-effective, sustainable designs meeting standards and client requirements.
• Team collaboration: work with senior engineers and mentor graduates.

The Opportunity

I’m working with a well-established, UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the built environment. With opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects within a collaborative and technically focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer looking to develop their technical expertise, take on greater responsibility and contribute to the delivery of innovative, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Design: Undertake structural analysis, calculations and detailed designs in accordance with UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
• Technical Delivery: Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Client and Contractor Liaison: Communicate with clients, architects, contractors and other design professionals to resolve technical challenges and support successful project delivery.
• Construction Support: Undertake site inspections, respond to technical queries and provide engineering support throughout the construction phase.
• Quality and Sustainability: Deliver practical, cost-effective and sustainable engineering designs that meet relevant standards and client requirements.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside senior engineers and contribute to the development of graduate engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

About You

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
