Job description

Structural Engineer – Gloucester

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £34,000 to £40,000

A central Gloucester-based engineering consultancy is looking to strengthen their Building Structures team with a permanent appointment of a Structural Engineer. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the commercial, retail, residential, and industrial sectors throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
2. Prepare high-quality technical reports, including dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys.
3. Undertake analysis and design using software such as CSC Fastrak and TEDDS to support reporting tasks.
4. Ensure quality and consistency of technical outputs (drawings, reports, etc.).
5. Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to deliver coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives.
6. Work on small to medium refurbishment and building extension projects.

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

1. A good academic background with a Masters’ or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
2. Consultancy experience as a Structural Engineer working on UK projects with similar responsibilities.
3. Experience in assessment work on building structures is highly desirable.
4. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software related to building structures.
