Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with a specialist engineering consultancy in the South West, delivering multidisciplinary design for water and wastewater projects. An experienced Structural Engineer will join a team working across client and site interactions to deliver concepts through to completion.

Structural Engineer

Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with a specialist engineering consultancy based in the South West, delivering multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical and civil engineering design across the water and wastewater sector.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a hard working and established multidisciplinary design team, working predominantly across water and wastewater projects. The role will suit a structural engineer with strong consultancy experience who enjoys working closely with clients, contractors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Structural Engineer

• Develop structural designs from initial concept through to final completion
• Produce technical design calculations, reports and accurate drawings
• Prepare specifications and support contract management where required
• Attend design and site meetings and undertake construction phase site inspections
• Support the development and mentoring of junior structural engineers

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience delivering structural engineering designs from concept through to completion, ideally across municipal infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork, with a practical understanding of buildability
• Proficiency in Revit, alongside Tekla Structural Designer or equivalent structural analysis and design software
• BEng, BSc, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, with approximately 5 years or more of design consultancy experience
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with IStructE or ICE, or actively working towards professional registration

The successful candidate will also need strong communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and experience working in client facing environments. Experience with Advance Steel and awareness of developments in common data environments would be advantageous.
