SYSTRA is actively seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our team at one of our key offices located in Birmingham, York, Leeds, or Manchester. With the recent acquisition of high-profile international projects, this is your chance to be part of a growing, innovative team within SYSTRA’s Buildings Division. Our focus spans across the Transport and Energy sectors, delivering projects such as passenger stations, rail depots, and energy-from-waste facilities, ensuring structural engineering remains a pivotal part of our world-class, multi-disciplinary transport design consultancy. Missions/Main Duties

Act as Structural Engineer on a variety of engineering, transportation and infrastructure projects. Working within budgets, programmes and quality assurance and as part of a small team in the delivery of customer projects.

• Prepare outline and detailed design of multi-disciplinary or single disciplinary projects as required.
• Follow and check procedures throughout project delivery
• Interface with other disciplines and 3rd party Engineers to ensure a multi-disciplinary design is developed if appropriate to project specifications
• Report to senior Engineers and Project Management team on progress of project
• Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety of staff and others affected by the operations of SYSTRA throughout design lifecycle
• Contribute to company-wide goals and business improvement
• Continue your own Professional Development with support from SYSTRA
• Any other duties as required
  
  

Profile/Skills

• Good knowledge and experience within Structural Engineering design and other relevant or interfacing discipline engineering design and detailing
• Educated to relevant degree level
• Knowledge of construction principles and standards relevant to the discipline
• Ideally working towards professional registration with an engineering institute
• Experience of working as a design engineer under supervision with responsibilities for deliverables within a work package / project(s)
• Production of quality deliverables in line with relevant standards and best practice
• Awareness of commercial and contract conditions as they relate to the delivery of budgets/timescales
• Proficient in the use of relevant computer analysis programmes.
