About The Role

A Structural Engineer is sought for a full-time post in Hemel Hempstead, offering £32,000 to £45,000 annually plus benefits. Applicants should hold a couple of years' consultancy experience and possess strong analytical, design and communication abilities. A well-established engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their growing Hemel Hempstead structures team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio including commercial, R&D, energy and residential developments, with exposure to projects from conception through to completion.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers and other in-house disciplines, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge, take on greater design responsibility and continue progressing towards professional Chartership.

We Are Looking For A Structural Engineer Who

• Has 2+ years' post-graduate experience within a structural engineering consultancy;
• Holds a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
• Has experience designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry;
• Is confident carrying out structural calculations and developing practical design solutions;
• Has experience with structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS;
• Has a good understanding of UK design standards and regulations;
• Is working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE, or has ambitions to do so;
• Is confident communicating with architects, clients and other members of the design team;
• Is proactive, technically minded and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

As The Successful Structural Engineer, You Will

• Deliver structural designs across a range of building projects;
• Work on both new-build and refurbishment schemes across commercial, R&D, energy and residential sectors;
• Prepare structural calculations and technical design information;
• Work closely with architects, clients, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams;
• Attend project meetings and liaise with key stakeholders;
• Carry out site visits and ensure designs are delivered in line with relevant requirements;
• Develop practical solutions to technical engineering challenges;
• Take on increasing levels of design and project responsibility;
• Continue developing towards professional Chartership with support from experienced engineers.
