Thorn Baker has teamed up with a market-leading offsite construction company based in Coventry, known for their innovative approach to delivering, manufacturing, engineering, and installing their own building systems. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their growing team.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the project team in delivering exemplary buildings
• Assist with detailed designs in collaboration with internal and external engineers, referring to the Delivery Manager and/or Lead Engineer
• Contribute to the technical development team
• Produce structural design packages
• Create temporary works packages
• Prioritize tasks and focus on objectives
• Review and check structural design packages produced by external engineers
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Tedds, and spreadsheets to produce designs

Required Skills

• A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with a focus on timber construction or similar
• Experience in timber engineering and modern methods of construction
• Design skills using Eurocodes in timber and steel
• Comfortable undertaking hand calculations and using spreadsheets
• Proficiency in computer design software packages
• Analytical thinking with attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative, ownership, and responsibility for your work
