Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to deliver projects within the Building Structures team, developing engineering knowledge from concept to construction.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
Graduate or Incorporated member of IStructE, ICE or working towards membership.
Commitment to chartered status.
Experience designing building structures in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
Developing Eurocode knowledge.
Familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, Tedds or similar.
Revit experience desirable.
Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
Interest in digital engineering, automation, embodied carbon and sustainable design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate, ask questions, take initiative and seek guidance when needed.
Flexible approach, with interest in design, inspection, refurbishment and technical advisory work.
Curious mindset and enthusiasm for collaboration and learning.
Willingness to travel across offices and project sites when required.
Role may require security clearance.
Security clearance may require proof of residency in the UK for 5 years or longer.

Responsibilities

Deliver projects within the Building Structures team
Apply and develop engineering knowledge across structural projects
Support project delivery from concept through detailed design and construction
Contribute to practical, innovative and sustainable design solutions
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Engage with clients, stakeholders and contractors
Assist in delivering projects within programme and budget requirements
Prepare technical calculations, reports and design outputs
Attend site visits and design team meetings as required
Progress towards chartership with structured training, mentoring and professional development
Contribute across feasibility, optioneering, technical review, detailed design, construction support, site inspection and completion
Deliver projects spanning sectors including aviation, public-sector redevelopment, education, healthcare, housing, retrofit, energy, utilities, rail, transport, emergency services, industrial and defence-related work
