Job summary

ELB Recruit is representing a niche Structural Engineering consultancy in Cheshire seeking a Structural Engineer with 2+ years of consultancy experience. You will work on domestic, luxury residential, commercial, industrial and renewable energy projects, from concept through to construction, alongside senior engineers.

The role offers exposure to varied structures, collaboration with architects and contractors, and a clear path toward Chartership with professional development support.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years' consultancy experience in structural engineering.
• Working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE.
• Proficient with Eurocodes, BS and UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of structural designs from concept through to detailed design.
• Produce structural calculations, technical reports, specifications and supporting documentation.
• Design structures in steel, concrete, masonry and timber in accordance with current standards and codes.
• Work across domestic, residential, commercial, industrial and renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Develop practical and commercially viable structural solutions with consideration for buildability.
• Support project delivery while maintaining quality, programme and commercial objectives.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Liaise with clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
• Ensure designs comply with health, safety and environmental legislation (CDM).
• Progress towards professional qualifications and Chartership.

ELB Recruit is representing a niche, well-established Structural Engineering consultancy based in Cheshire, who are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' consultancy experience to develop their career within a specialist, client-focused practice delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across Cheshire and the wider North West.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit team, working alongside experienced engineers on technically varied projects spanning domestic, luxury residential, commercial, industrial and renewable energy developments, from initial concept through to construction.

Renewables & Wind Turbine Support

Develop experience within the growing renewable energy sector, supporting structural engineering projects associated with renewable infrastructure and wind turbine installations.

The Role

This position offers the opportunity to work across a genuinely varied project portfolio while developing your technical expertise within a specialist structural engineering environment.

As a Structural Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of structural engineering solutions across a range of projects and work closely with senior engineers throughout the design and construction process.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Approximately 2+ years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
• Working towards Chartered status with IStructE or ICE.
• Experience designing building structures across a range of project types.
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and UK Building Regulations.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS or similar.
• Understanding of construction methodologies and buildability considerations.
• Experience working within BIM environments; exposure to Revit would be advantageous.
• Strong technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team while managing your own workload.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continued professional development.
• An interest in developing experience across specialist and renewable energy projects would be advantageous.
