Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is recruiting an Assistant or Building Structures Engineer in the UK to support the design and delivery of infrastructure and Ministry of Justice building projects, including prisons and other secure facilities. The role suits developing engineers seeking greater project exposure or an established Building Structures Engineer able to manage their own workload under guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Experience producing structural designs and calculations.
• Knowledge of common construction materials (steel, concrete, masonry, timber).
• Familiarity with Structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
• Experience using structural design software (Tekla Structural Designer/Tekla Tedds).

Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Develop safe, practical and compliant engineering solutions.
• Support projects from surveys through design, construction and handover.
• Assess existing buildings and develop refurbishment or strengthening solutions.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Use 3D modelling software for structural design.
• Undertake site surveys and technical assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and tender information.
• Manage work against quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
