Job Description:

I am currently looking for a Structural Design Delivery Lead to oversee structural engineering delivery for high-voltage substation and power infrastructure projects (11kV–132kV and above).

This senior leadership role reports directly to the Engineering Manager. You will lead structural design from concept through to construction, coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and serving as the key technical contact for clients and site teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading structural design across multiple projects
• Managing interfaces between design teams, subcontractors, and construction
• Conducting design reviews, IDRs, HAZOPs, and compliance checks
• Ensuring designs are practical and constructible
• Providing guidance on temporary works and safety
• Supporting site teams with design queries and inspections
• Advising on civil/structural matters, land consents, CDM, and UK compliance

Candidate requirements:

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Chartered preferred)
• Experience in lead design roles for substations, power plants, or infrastructure projects
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
• Knowledge of CDM, British Standards, and site delivery
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and represent engineering at a senior level
• Proficiency in MS Office; Primavera P6 or CAD is a plus
• Full UK driving license
