We are looking for a Structural Biologist who is collaborative, curious, and innovative to join us in our Characterization and Material Sciences team, based in Slough, United Kingdom.

About the role

As a Structural Biologist, you will apply computational and biophysical approaches to support the development of innovative therapies. You will use molecular modelling and predictive techniques to characterize proteins, peptides, polymers, and small molecules, helping to accelerate development from early research through to commercialization. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to scientific investigations, and support data-driven decision‑making across development programs.

Who you'll work with

You will be working in a team of experienced scientists within the Characterization and Material Sciences department. The team specialises in understanding the structure, function, and stability of therapeutic molecules using advanced analytical and computational techniques. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across formulation, analytical sciences, drug substance, drug product, and research functions, as well as academic and external partners across the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States.

What you'll do
  • Apply molecular modelling and simulation techniques to characterize proteins, peptides, polymers, and small molecules.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise scripts to automate structural modelling and molecular dynamics workflows.
  • Build predictive models that support and accelerate therapeutic development programmes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional scientific teams to address complex development and characterization challenges.
  • Contribute to technical reports, procedures, protocols, and regulatory documentation.
  • Perform laboratory‑based biophysical characterization activities when required.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate or Master's degree with relevant experience in Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Biophysics, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Practical experience in protein homology modelling, molecular dynamics simulations, and computational structural biology.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and scripting using Python or R programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of antibody structure, function, and biophysical characterization principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing scientific reports and technical documentation.
