Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Stroke service on the Templer ward in Newton Abbot. You will manage adults with dysphagia and communication disorders after stroke as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

This fixed-term, part-time post offers clinical supervision, CPD opportunities, and involvement in FEES clinics, with travel across sites likely.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
• RCSLT registration and ongoing CPD in stroke neuro‑rehabilitation.
• Post‑graduate qualification in dysphagia management or evidence of competencies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of adults with speech, language and swallowing disorders after stroke.
• Triage referrals and supervise junior staff as appropriate.
• Ensure safe eating/drinking by assessing and communicating correct procedures.
