Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Stroke therapy team on a fixed-term basis until 26 April 2027. The role supports hyper-acute and acute stroke care across multiple sites, with opportunities to supervise junior staff and contribute to service development.

The successful candidate will be passionate about stroke care, promote evidence-based practice, and work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a busy acute hospital

Qualifications

• Deliver evidence based Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment.
• Demonstrate effective communication with team members, clients and other professionals.
• Demonstrate ability to work flexibly in response to changing service demands.
• Valid full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic interventions in an integrated, client-centred way.
• Assess, plan and implement treatment programmes within the Therapy team.
• Rotate between specialty areas and hospital sites as required.
• Progress to supervise less experienced therapists and support staff, with supervision from senior staff.
• Participate in the out-of-hours service as required.
