Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting two Stroke Consultants to deliver compassionate care across a 48-bed stroke unit and to develop their own specialist interests.

The role involves regional service expansion, collaboration with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals tertiary team as part of WYAAT, and active participation in clinical research, teaching and service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and compassionate care for Stroke patients across a 48-bed bed base.
• Develop their own area of specialist interest and provide sub-specialty expertise.
• Develop and expand the current Stroke service locally and regionally.
• Collaborate closely with the Tertiary service team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals as a core member of WYAAT.
• Get involved in clinical research, teaching and development.
• Assess patients suspected to have acute stroke via hot phone for thrombolysis and thrombectomy; conduct TIA clinic.
