Job summary

Planet Recruitment is seeking an experienced Strip Fitter to join a busy automotive bodyshop in Rochester. You will be responsible for stripping and fitting vehicle panels and components and preparing vehicles for repair.

The successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. This permanent role offers a rate of £17.73 per hour, Monday to Friday, 06:30–16:30, within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Strip Fitter or in a similar bodyshop role.
• Experience stripping and fitting vehicle panels and components.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Strip and fit vehicle panels and components.
• Remove parts and panels from a wide range of vehicles.
• Refit panels and components correctly following vehicle repairs.
• Work independently on vehicles.
• Support other areas of the bodyshop when necessary.
• Assist and support junior and trainee technicians.
• Provide training and guidance to trainee bodyshop staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

Strip Fitter - Rochester

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Strip Fitter to join a busy and professional automotive bodyshop in Rochester.

Working as part of an experienced bodyshop team, you will be responsible for stripping and fitting vehicle panels and components, ensuring vehicles are prepared correctly for repair and returned to their original condition.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Strip Fitter who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is passionate about working within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Strip and fit vehicle panels and components.
• Remove parts and panels from a wide range of vehicles.
• Ensure all components are removed safely and correctly.
• Label and correctly store nuts, bolts, screws and other fixings so they are ready for refitting.
• Ensure stripped parts and panels are organised and kept safely.
• Refit panels and components correctly following vehicle repairs.
• Work independently on vehicles and make decisions when required.
• Support other areas of the bodyshop when necessary.
• Assist and support junior and trainee technicians.
• Provide training and guidance to trainee bodyshop staff.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a Strip Fitter or similar bodyshop role.
• Experience stripping and fitting vehicle panels and components.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• Strong organisational skills.
• A willingness to support and train junior and trainee technicians.
• A genuine passion for the automotive industry.
• Pride in producing high-quality work.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
