Job summary

City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club is seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the DiSE Basketball Programme 2026/27, based at Birmingham Met College. You will drive the physical development of student-athletes, overseeing S&C for EABL and AoC players within the college.

Responsibilities include planning individualized programmes, leading testing, collaborating with coaches and physios on injury risk reduction, and fostering long-term strength, speed and training habits.

Qualifications

• A degree in S&C, Sport & Exercise Science or a related field.
• UKSCA or CSCS or Level 4 S&C qualification.
• Experience delivering S&C programmes and performance testing.
• Enhanced DBS, first aid, safeguarding commitment.
• Experience with adolescent athletes, basketball academies or XPS; Level 3 pathway considered.

We’re looking for a Strength & Conditioning Coach to drive the physical development of our Basketball England Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) student‑athletes, overseeing S&C for our EABL and AoC players at the college.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and deliver individualised S&C programmes across our EABL and AoC squads
• Lead physical testing and track progress in XPS
• Work with coaches and physios on injury risk reduction and return-to-play
• Help young athletes build strength, speed, robustness and good training habits for the long term

What you’ll bring:

• A degree in S&C, Sport & Exercise Science or a related field
• UKSCA accreditation, NSCA CSCS, or an accepted Level 4 S&C qualification
• Experience delivering S&C programmes and performance testing
• Enhanced DBS, first aid, and a strong commitment to safeguarding
• Experience with adolescent athletes, basketball academies or XPS is a bonus. UKSCA Level 3 holders may be considered through a supervised pathway.
