Job summary

City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club is seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the DiSE Basketball Programme 2026/27, based at Birmingham Met College. You will drive the physical development of student-athletes, overseeing S&C for EABL and AoC players within the college.

Responsibilities include planning individualized programmes, leading testing, collaborating with coaches and physios on injury risk reduction, and fostering long-term strength, speed and training habits.

Qualifications

• A degree in S&C, Sport & Exercise Science or a related field.
• UKSCA or CSCS or Level 4 S&C qualification.
• Experience delivering S&C programmes and performance testing.
• Enhanced DBS, first aid, safeguarding commitment.
• Experience with adolescent athletes, basketball academies or XPS; Level 3 pathway considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualised S&C programmes across EABL and AoC squads.
• Lead physical testing and track progress in XPS.
• Work with coaches and physios on injury risk reduction and return-to-play.
• Help young athletes build strength, speed, robustness and good training habits for the long term.
