Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified mental health professional to join the Street Triage and Police Liaison team within our Crisis Pathway. The post is predominantly based in the Force Control Room, providing triage, advice and liaison to police officers at incidents involving mental health concerns.

You will contribute to strategic pathways, undertake mental health assessments where required, and support partnership working with GPs, EMAS and acute hospitals.

Qualifications

• Registered with a qualification for role (RMN/OT/SW).

Responsibilities

• Improve mental health outcomes of those who have police contact presenting with mental health needs.
• Increase engagement in health and social care services.
• Contribute management plans and engagement with community agencies.
• Information sharing with GPs and developing information consent process.
• Improve response times of mental health assessment to officers in the community.
• Reduce officer numbers and time at incidents involving mental health concerns.
• Reduce numbers of inappropriate section 136 arrest and improve crisis pathways.
• Provide training for police officers and control room staff.
• Support continued improvements in frontline mental health responses through collaboration with partner agencies such as EMAS.
• Crisis Pathway roles provide specialist mental health assessment in various venues across the county.
