Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting for a Street Lighting Operative to work on an ongoing civil engineering contract across the Teesside region. You will install, maintain, and repair street lighting infrastructure and perform electrical testing and fault diagnosis.

The role requires relevant street lighting qualifications, G39 certification, CSCS/ECS, and IPAF for MEWP operation, plus a full UK driving licence. It offers a long-term, stable contract with local pay rates and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Relevant street lighting qualification (e.g., C & G 236/2330/2365 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical/Street Lighting) required.
• G39 certification is required.
• CSCS / ECS card required.
• IPAF (1b / 3b) certificate for MEWP operation.
• Full UK driving licence (Category C1 or C / HGV advantageous).
• Previous experience on local authority or highway lighting contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing street lighting columns, lanterns, and cabling.
• Carrying out electrical testing, fault diagnosis and routine inspections.
• Operating MEWP safely for high-level works.
• Adhering to site safety guidelines, traffic management setups, and RAMS.
• Working with groundworks and civil crews on site.
