Job summary

VolkerHighways is recruiting a Highways Street Lighting Electrical Operative for our Wokingham contract. You will support electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations, under the Site Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include installing signs and columns, providing 24-hour standby, testing, fault diagnosis and vehicle maintenance, while adhering to safety and site rules. A strong focus on safe isolation and high standards is expected.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3 years' street lighting installations experience.
• Must demonstrate good awareness of site and company rules.
• Safe Isolation/G39, SWQR qualification, First Aid, Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of signs, columns, bollards and related equipment.
• Provide 24-hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby.
• Assist installation of new build works.
• Carry out works as directed by Site Supervisor safely.
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing.
• Fault diagnosis and repair.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained with defect sheets completed.
