Job summary

Leicester City Council is seeking a full-time street cleansing operative to keep Leicester clean and tidy. You will walk and work across various locations, wear a provided uniform, and respond to public and safety needs throughout shifts.

You’ll perform cleansing duties daily, support snow clearance in winter, and liaise with your team to maintain a safe, effective service. Driving licence is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and respond politely to the public.
• Physically fit to undertake long periods of manual work.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter, leaves, detritus, illegal dumping, dog fouling, graffiti and empty bins in designated areas.
• Support with snow clearance in winter months.
• Maintain health and safety while working on streets and report hazards to Team Leader.
