Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is recruiting for a street cleansing role. You will undertake litter collection, remove bulky waste and carry out related outdoor cleaning tasks across public spaces.

Role involves working outside in all weather conditions, scrubbing verges and paths, and may include weekend or night shifts with enhanced pay. A full manual B-category driving licence is required, and the job requires good physical fitness and the ability to read maps and written instructions.

Qualifications

• You must have a full driving licence to at least category B for manual transmission vehicles.
• You need to be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
• You will be able to read and follow written instructions, maps and paper records.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out street cleansing duties, including litter collection and removal of bulky waste.
• Working outdoors in all weathers on verges, footpaths, roadways and other outdoor environments; assisting in waste removal, weed control and graffiti removal.
• Potentially working on high-speed roads and occasional unpleasant or hazardous environments; adherence to health and safety guidelines.
