Job Description:

Job overview

The work of the strategy, research, innovation & improvement directorate primarily focuses on the delivery of the third strategic goal – ‘to build learning, improvement and innovation into everything we do’. The directorate includes sub-functions of improvement, innovation, strategy & partnerships, sustainability, population health & equity, and life sciences. Each of these sub-functions leads on the development & delivery of key strategic programmes through practical implementation, use of improvement methods, capability building, and development of partnerships across specific subject areas prioritized nationally. We seek a dynamic Strategy, Partnerships & Innovation Programme Manager to support our Executive Director, Prof Bob Klaber, in delivering our ambitious objectives. This role is pivotal in coordinating and implementing our organisational strategy, fostering innovation, and managing key partnerships. The responsibilities of the post holder are detailed in the job description. You will play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery, fostering innovation, and building meaningful partnerships that benefit our patients and communities.

Interviews will be held on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th July (virtually).

Some candidates may progress to a 2nd interview on Monday 21st July (in person at St Mary's Hospital).

Main duties of the job

Please carefully review the Job Description and Person Specification as they clearly outline the responsibilities, skills, and behaviors required. If you wish to discuss the role further, our Exec Director Bob Klaber is available as a contact.

The portfolio is diverse and fast-moving; the post holder must work flexibly and be an active part of the senior leadership team, shaping the direction of our strategy, innovation & partnerships work.

Our most important requirement is kindness—a core value and behavior expected of all staff. We value curiosity, learning, and inclusivity of diverse voices. When applying, please explain how you will contribute to these values through your work and leadership.

Regarding AI, while we have an AI strategy, we advise caution in its use in your application. We value high-quality, logical, evidence-based writing that reflects your values and what matters most to you. Applications will be evaluated with significant weighting on this aspect.

Working for our organisation

At Imperial College Healthcare, you will work with leading clinicians and achieve extraordinary things with a vibrant team that embodies our values: expert, kind, collaborative, and aspirational. We offer career development, flexible working, wellbeing initiatives, staff recognition, and optional benefits such as Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, and leisure memberships.

We are committed to equal opportunities and flexible working arrangements, including part-time and job-sharing options. Please discuss these during your interview.
