Job summary

Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics, seeks a Strategy & Operations Director for Data Science to translate strategy into measurable outcomes. You will partner with the COO, Chief of Staff, and Data Science leadership to drive performance, operating rhythm, and cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Product, Technology and HR.

You will establish data-driven performance views, define OKRs and KPIs, and shape execution of high-priority strategic programs.

Qualifications

First-class stakeholder management and communication skills, able to distil complex issues into executive recommendations.
Significant experience in strategy, business operations, transformation, performance management, or a similar role.
Experience working with senior executives in a complex, matrixed organisation.
Strong analytical capability to interpret financial, operational and organisational data.
Proven ability to drive performance improvements to measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

Develop an integrated view of performance across the Data Science division, consolidating financial, operational, product, delivery and organisational metrics.
Define and monitor OKRs, KPIs and dashboards; establish leadership reviews and follow-up processes.
Translate data into actionable insights for the COO & Chief of Staff and Data Science leadership.
Lead cross-functional initiatives and ensure resources align with top priorities.
Support governance, cadence, and operating model improvements across the division.
