Nicholson Glover is seeking a data economics specialist to help major organisations understand and unlock value from their data. You will conduct data maturity assessments, governance work, and investment analyses, presenting findings and recommendations to clients at board level.
Join a boutique team delivering rigorous, commercially grounded work across infrastructure, utilities, transport, and government.
Most organisations know their data isn't in great shape. Very few know exactly why, or what it's actually costing them.
This is a specialist boutique that helps major organisations understand, manage, and get real value from their data. Their work spans data maturity assessments, data quality and condition diagnostics, governance and operating model design, and data investment prioritisation. They have clients across infrastructure, utilities, transport, and government. It's rigorous, commercially grounded work that lands at board level.
You’ll be part of a squad working on live engagements — the analytical engine behind every project. That means preparing and structuring data, conducting research, building models and initial outputs, and contributing to client‑ready documents and presentations. The work varies by engagement: one project might involve gathering and analysing data to assess how mature a client’s data assets are across the enterprise; another might involve supporting a root cause analysis of why critical data is underperforming, or helping document a governance framework that helps a major organisation treat data as a measurable, manageable asset.
You'll be intellectually curious, organised, and someone who takes quality seriously. You check your own work. You ask good questions. You want to understand the problem, not just complete the task.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose background has a business or strategic orientation — moving from economics, strategy, or commercial analysis toward data — rather than candidates from a purely technical engineering, software, or analytics delivery background.
Data Economics and Data Asset Management are being defined right now. Joining early means growing with a discipline that is still taking shape — and being part of what it becomes.
You'll build fluency across the firm’s full range of work — maturity assessments, condition diagnostics, governance design, and investment cases — supported by experienced practitioners with a genuine interest in your growth.
A small, high‑calibre team where your work is visible and your contribution counts from the start.
£38,000 - £55,000 base salary, bonus, private health cover with enhanced mental health support, generous family policies, and access to professional financial advice.
Around 60% in‑person collaboration in London SE1; genuine autonomy to shape the rest of your week around where you do your best work.
This role is being recruited on a confidential basis. The client's name will be shared with suitable candidates at first conversation stage.
