Job description

Managing Consultant | Data Science & Advanced Analytics | London (hybrid) | Competitive salary + bonus

A world-renowned global innovation consultancy is looking for a Managing Consultant to join its growing team, working at the intersection of data science, advanced analytics and real-world problem solving.

This is an opportunity to tackle complex, high-impact challenges for major public and private sector organisations, using mathematics, machine learning and advanced analytics to turn data into decisions that make a difference.

Importantly, this is about more than delivering projects. You'll also have the opportunity to help shape the consultancy's growth, develop new client relationships and identify fresh opportunities to bring its expertise to market.

The opportunity
  • Tackle complex client challenges using mathematical modelling, machine learning and advanced analytics.
  • Own the full analytical lifecycle, from exploratory analysis and model development through to testing, delivery and handover.
  • Translate business problems into innovative, evidence-based analytical solutions.
  • Communicate complex findings with clarity, influencing both technical and senior business stakeholders.
  • Work alongside talented, multidisciplinary teams in an agile consulting environment.
  • Deliver projects across a diverse range of industries and sectors.
  • Identify opportunities to extend client relationships and introduce new analytical capabilities.
  • Help shape propositions and find new ways to showcase the consultancy's expertise to prospective clients.
Growing the business

You'll play an active role in developing the consultancy, combining your technical credibility and consulting experience with a commercial mindset.

You'll enjoy building relationships, opening doors and identifying organisations that could benefit from the consultancy's capabilities.

This could involve:
  • Identifying new client opportunities and developing strategic accounts.
  • Building relationships with senior stakeholders and understanding their business challenges.
  • Finding opportunities to introduce the consultancy's expertise into new organisations, sectors and markets.
  • Developing new propositions and innovative ways to showcase the team's capabilities.
  • Working with technical specialists to shape solutions to new and emerging client problems.
  • Contributing to proposals, client conversations and the development of new business opportunities.

You'll be commercially curious, entrepreneurial and proactive. Rather than simply waiting for the next project to arrive, you'll enjoy finding the next challenge, creating opportunities and helping clients understand how data science, advanced analytics and innovation can solve problems they may not have considered tackling.

What you'll bring
  • A degree, Master's or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, Physics, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Excel and data visualisation.
  • A track record of designing, developing and delivering analytical models.
  • Experience using data and evidence to support business decisions across public or private sector organisations.
  • Demonstrable consulting and stakeholder management experience.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in developing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and helping expand a consulting business.
  • A naturally curious mindset and a genuine passion for solving challenging problems.

**Additional experience with Databricks, PySpark, R, Power BI or Palantir Foundry would be advantageous.**

Why consider it?
  • Continued development:** Dedicated training and certification budget.
  • Variety:** Work on complex, interesting projects spanning seven different sectors.
  • Influence:** An opportunity to shape client relationships, develop new propositions and contribute directly to business growth.
  • Flexibility:** London-based hybrid working, with a minimum of two days on site.
  • Reward:** Annual bonus, pension, private healthcare and share ownership.

A chance to combine serious technical expertise, consulting delivery and commercial thinking. You'll solve challenging problems for major organisations while helping shape the next stage of growth for a world-renowned consultancy.
