Alfa has a number of opportunities in smart, diverse and growing teams working in a product-led software delivery company. We currently have a unique opportunity to join Alfa as Strategy Associate within our Strategy and Partnerships team.

As a strategy associate, you would manage the strategic process at Alfa, including the

documentation and communication of Alfa’s strategy, undertaking strategic analysis work and the management of our internal investment in our product and delivery methodology.

What you’ll be doing;

• Own and drive the corporate strategic planning and goal setting process
• Internal monitoring and reporting on progress with annual objectives
• Prepare presentation materials for PLC Board strategy sessions
• Assist the Financial Planning & Analysis team with Alfa’s short and long term financial plans
• Own the process for assessing the value of strategic opportunities, such as entry into adjacent markets, and support prioritisation of investment in these opportunities
• Undertake ad-hoc strategy-led analysis and investigation to inform company decision making
• Keep track of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and internal performance to derive actionable recommendations
• Understanding marketplace penetration and devising strategies to proactively maximise our ability to service the market
• Provide support to our Corporate Leaderships teams across the organization on matters concerning direction setting, strategic analysis, competitive intelligence, and business optimization
• Draft Annual Report content related to strategy and internal investment
• Ongoing review of Alfa’s target markets and sizing to inform sales, strategic objectives and internal investment.
• Draft documents and presentations for partners, investors and internal discussions, ensuring engagement in our strategy.
• Support the company’s annual programme of internal projects investing in our product and methodology investment
• Support the company’s Investment Committee, which oversees internal investment projects
• Monitor and report on investment projects, ensuring that risks are managed and mitigated and that corrective action is taken for any issues
• Understand the company’s clients and their interests in order to inform strategy and investment projects
• Understanding of the strategic process
• Owning our internal strategy documentation and communication ensuring company engagement in our strategy.

What we are looking for;

Analytical & Strategic Thinking

• Structured Problem Solving: Ability to define clear problem statements, generate hypotheses, and conduct thorough analyses to derive actionable insights.
• Quantitative Analysis: Strong numerical skills, including data interpretation and statistical analysis, to inform strategy. Proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, and visualisation in Excel.
• Industry & Competitor Analysis: Skilled in gathering and synthesising market and competitor data to inform strategic initiatives.
• Primary & Secondary Research: Experience in conducting interviews, surveys, and leveraging databases for comprehensive research.
• Trend Monitoring: Ability to track and analyse industry trends to anticipate market shifts and opportunities.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Presentation & Storytelling: Expertise in creating compelling presentations using tools like PowerPoint, effectively communicating complex ideas, and at an appropriate level for the target audience via written and verbal communication.
• Innovation: Ability to generate new ideas and an eye to continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with leadership teams, facilitating collaboration.
• Report Writing: Proficient in drafting clear, concise documentation, reports and executive summaries for diverse audiences. Strong written and spoken English.

Project Management & Execution

• Project Planning & Execution: Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly across departments, driving initiatives that require multi-disciplinary input.

Educational Background & Experience

• Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Professional Experience: 3-5 years in strategy consulting or corporate strategy roles.
• Sector Knowledge: Experience in sectors such as financial services, technology, or B2B services is beneficial.
