Job summary

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is seeking a Business Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12-month hybrid contract based at Abbey Wood, Bristol. The role focuses on workforce planning, governance, and stakeholder engagement with a strong data reporting component.

Two days per week on-site with flexible remote elements where appropriate. Essential clearance and defence sector experience are desirable, with MS Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint proficiency driving daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in workforce planning, people analytics, or related data roles.
• Strong data analysis and workforce reporting skills.
• Experience with governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to organise governance meetings, boards, or committees.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Advanced MS Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyse workforce data and provide insights to support workforce planning decisions.
• Produce reports, presentations, and workforce updates for senior stakeholders.
• Act as a key contact for Profession Leads, providing workforce and capability advice.
• Coordinate governance meetings, governance panels, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Manage the Digital Skills Allowance process, including reviews and audits.
• Prepare briefing papers, recommendations, and governance documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure governance compliance.
• Support continuous improvement, capability development, and outreach initiatives.
