Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Operational Planning Engineer to shape the strategy and performance of its water supply system. You will lead weekly, monthly and annual planning, coordinating outages and ensuring long-term resilience for millions of customers.

Collaborating with water production, network, asset management and capital delivery teams, you will analyse SCADA and PI data to drive plans that keep the network running efficiently while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental field.
• Strong communication skills with an innovative approach to engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Competence in health and safety practices.
• Ability to deliver against operational targets and analyse key performance data from SCADA and PI systems.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with water production and network teams to ensure optimum water supply system performance.
• Maintain and facilitate the outage plan for the London water supply to enable maintenance and inspections without impacting water quality or supply.
• Assist the London strategic control manager in maintaining weekly and annual production plans for optimal system operation.
• Carry out supply/demand mass balance studies to assess system resilience.
• Provide technical support and risk assessments for permits to work on the supply system.
