Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Operational Planning Engineer to shape the strategy and performance of the London water network. You will lead weekly, monthly and annual planning, ensuring resilient supply and demand while coordinating outages and asset performance.

Based in Thames Valley, London, you will work standard hours with occasional standby to support long-term system operation. This role offers a competitive salary and strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Water industry experience would be beneficial.
• Degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental field.
• Strong communication skills with an innovative approach to engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Competence in health and safety practices.
• Ability to deliver against operational targets and analyse key performance data from SCADA and PI systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outages and optimise overall water supply system performance.
• Collaborate with asset management and capital delivery to validate new assets.
• Maintain outage plan for London water supply while ensuring water quality.
• Assist London strategic control manager with weekly and annual production plans.
• Carry out supply/demand mass balance studies for system resilience.
• Provide technical support and risk assessments for permits to work.
