Job summary

Matchtech is supporting a Havant-based water company in recruiting a Water Resources Planner to help deliver WRMP and Drought Plan initiatives. You will forecast demand, model resources and report findings to support strategic decisions while coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.

The role offers hybrid working and a clear path for progression in water resources planning, with opportunities to lead regulatory submissions and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Water Resources, Environmental Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or related field.
• Professional membership or working towards chartered status (CIWEM, Institute of Water).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills to interpret datasets.
• Experience or knowledge in water resources planning, demand forecasting, and demand management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support development, maintenance and reporting of WRMP and Drought Plan.
• Analyse and present water resource and demand data for strategic planning.
• Assist with demand forecasting and water resource modelling with clear insights.
• Monitor performance and produce regular reporting for decisions.
• Coordinate consultants and external partners to meet timelines and budgets.
• Represent the client at technical meetings and forums.
• Collaborate with teams across metering, water efficiency, leakage, developer services and regulatory programmes.
• Support continuous improvement, KPI delivery, regulatory compliance and safety culture.
