Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking a Senior Technical Officer to improve waste and recycling services for nearly a million people. You will manage key facilities, projects, contracts and service improvements, working with Veolia, Brighton & Hove City Council, district and borough councils and other partners.

The role involves analysing data, managing budgets and payments, preparing reports and briefings, developing policies and procedures, and helping shape practical, high-profile services

Qualifications

• Significant experience working at a strategic level in the waste industry.
• Experience developing and maintaining effective partnerships.
• Ability to take on new and complex areas of work and lead them to delivery.
• Preparing reports, develop strategies and ideas for policy improvement, and supporting good decision-making.
• Strongly self-motivated, ability to work under pressure and translate policy into workable solutions.
