Job summary

Staffline in the United Kingdom is seeking a Strategic Waste Partnerships Manager to oversee a major municipal waste partnership, focusing on contract performance, compliance, and value realisation across energy from waste, MBT, and recycling operations.

You will lead strategic contract management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement within a high-profile local authority waste portfolio, driving circular economy outcomes and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of EfW, MBT, MRF and municipal waste operations
• Proven track record delivering contractual performance and governance
• Experience driving circular economy, recycling and landfill diversion
• Commercially astute with contract negotiation and performance management
• Influential leader able to shape strategy, policy, and service delivery models
• Experience managing Waste PFI/PPP contracts or strategic municipal partnerships

Responsibilities

• Contract & Commercial Leadership and Governance in Waste PFI and concession contracts
• Commercial contract performance: payment mechanisms, performance regime, variations, mobilisation, service integration
• Lead strategic management of a high-value Waste PFI partnership ensuring compliance and long-term sustainability
• Act as waste SME providing guidance on municipal waste treatment, resource recovery and compliance
• Drive performance across EfW, MBT, and recycling assets
• Develop waste strategies supporting circular economy and landfill targets
• Manage stakeholders across authorities, partners, regulators, providers
• Deliver service improvements and commercial optimisations
