Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd in West Kent is seeking a Transport & Logistics Coordinator for a manufacturing and distribution business. The role focuses on route planning, third‑party hauliers and day‑to‑day logistics operations, with a Monday–Friday day shift and a £35,000 salary negotiable plus a company bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport coordination, transport planning or logistics management.
• Strong understanding of route planning, load optimisation and scheduling.
• Experience with external hauliers, pallet networks and transport suppliers.
• Commercial awareness including pricing, rate negotiation and cost control.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to improving processes and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport operations including route planning, load scheduling, deliveries and collections.
• Organise third-party hauliers, pallet networks and external transport providers.
• Negotiate transport rates, manage pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Plan efficient delivery routes considering customer requirements, vehicle capacity and deadlines.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Sales and Operations to ensure smooth logistics processes.
• Review transport procedures and implement more efficient working practices.
• Monitor transport performance, maintain records and ensure compliance.
