Job summary

Probus Recruitment Ltd seeks a seasoned Supply Chain Manager in Morecambe to own end-to-end supply chain operations, drive improvements from suppliers through to customers and deliver measurable cost and efficiency gains.

The role demands a strong commercial mindset, experience with international suppliers, and the ability to shape strategy as the business grows, including implementation of SAP ERP and development of the team.

Qualifications

• Proven supply chain leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience with international suppliers and multi-site networks.
• Track record of reducing cost and improving supplier performance.
• Experience transferring products between suppliers/sites.
• Knowledge of warehousing, 3PL and international logistics.
• ERP/MRP experience; SAP desirable.
• Strong stakeholder-management and change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the overall supply chain function with clear direction.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities across purchasing, logistics and warehousing.
• Review, consolidate and optimise the global supplier base.
• Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and continuity of supply.
• Lead commercial negotiations and supplier contracts.
• Identify quick wins delivering early benefits.
• Manage supplier-transfer and offshoring projects.
• Develop long-term strategy for international logistics, warehousing and 3PLs.
• Improve product availability and delivery while balancing inventory and cost.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning and Sales to align supply with demand.
• Lead and develop a team covering customer service, logistics and group buying.
• Support implementation of a new SAP ERP system.
