Job summary

Pineapple is seeking a commercially driven Sourcing Specialist with strong plastics knowledge to shape and develop our supplier base. This role sits at the intersection of strategic sourcing, polymer-processing technology and supplier development, working with internal stakeholders and manufacturing partners to improve cost, quality and supply performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of plastics or polymer manufacturing and the commercial implications of different processing methods.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and delivering measurable cost/quality/performance improvements.
• Structured, analytical and commercially minded approach to decision-making.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for plastics, polymers and related components.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers based on capability, capacity, quality and competitiveness.
• Lead supplier negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives with commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with new product development and purchasing on tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Assess manufacturing methods such as injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and thermoforming.
• Manage supplier performance, risk, continuity of supply and continuous improvement.
