Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking T-shaped architects to bridge business strategy, architecture, and engineering. You will influence how we design and deliver technology across a broad and evolving portfolio, focusing on modern architecture, cloud-native patterns, and scalable, end-to-end solutions.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup, typically three days in the Skipton office with two days remote, collaborating with product and engineering teams to drive transformational change for members.

Qualifications

• T-shaped architects with core solution architecture capability
• Broad knowledge across domains: applications, data, integration, infrastructure, or security
• Experience designing end-to-end technology solutions in agile environments
• Ability to design scalable, end-to-end solutions within complex tech environments
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns (APIs, microservices, event-driven) and cloud platforms
• Azure experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Turn strategic ambitions into practical, deliverable solutions
• Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned to enterprise architecture
• Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to translate requirements
• Guide technical decisions balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability
• Provide architectural governance across the delivery lifecycle
• Identify risks and opportunities to improve simplicity and reuse
• Champion modern architecture approaches and reusable platforms
