Job summary

BAE Systems in Portsmouth is seeking a Procurement Professional to oversee procurement across long-term projects, with a focus on software. You will govern orderbooks, source goods and services, coordinate supplier delivery, and liaise with PM, Engineering and Goods In to meet governance and timescales.

You’ll join the Central Procurement - Combat Systems Team, working in a hybrid model starting with 4 days on-site during training and moving to flexible hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Procurement experience in defence/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to coordinate multiple supply chain order books and POs.
• Ability to interpret supplier data, identify trends, risks and improvements.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel for reporting.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement activities: RFQs, POs, expediting, orderbook management, invoice processing.
• Coordinate supply chain across PM, Engineering, Goods In and suppliers for on-time delivery.
• Monitor orderbooks and address delays or changes, escalate risks to minimise impact.
• Ensure software orders follow governance and maintain software register.
• Build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, drive continuous improvement.
