Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage UK and international supplier base to maintain stock for Typhoon and F35 production lines.
• Collaborate with internal customers, engineering, quality to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Develop and use your professional network to deliver production requirements efficiently.
• Place Purchase Contracts timely while adhering to governance like supplier accreditations and export controls.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure parts meet business and customer requirements.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and effective communication.
• Monitor supplier KPIs, schedule adherence, and quality assurance performance.
• Influence and expedite dependencies via robust reviews with suppliers and internal teams.
• Interface across Air business and with PM, Engineering, Commercial, Finance.
• Travel to suppliers to lead business and orderbook reviews.

Senior Procurement Professional - 12 month contract - Samlesbury Aerodrome, Lancashire - £33.24 ph UMB or £24.78 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

The Role

• Managing a UK and international supply base and the associated order book to ensure the Typhoonand F35 Production line has the required stock levels maintained in a fast paced environment as well as support in service HAwk and T45 customer requirements
• Working closely with internal customers, cross-functional collabration with value, engineering and quality to understand requirements, analyse, identify and resolve issues.
• Develop and use your professional network, enabling efficient and effective delivery of production requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensuring timely placement of Purchase Contracts whilst ensuring adherance to Procurement/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the parts meets the requirements of the business and our customers.
• Effective supplier relationship management maintaining strong, effective relationships with suppliers
• Proactively monitoring and communicating supplier's key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring schedule adherence, invoice management and quality assurance performance.
• Influencing and expediting dependencies via robust review mechanisms with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Interfacing across the Air business and with other teams and functions, e.g. PM, Engineering, Commercial, Finance
• Ensuring correct and current data is maintained in the ERP system
• Travel to suppliers to lead Business and Orderbook reviews

What are BAE Systems looking for from you?

Essential:

• Extensive Procurement experience, preferably in a high volume, fast paced aerospace, defence, regulated or manufacturing market
• Supply Chain orderbook management experience including experience of high volumes of purchase orders, supplier updates, queries and invoices
• A Continuous Improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution, ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment
• Demonstrative working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office EXCEL to a high level is essential

• Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations
• A proven ability to collaborate, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders by using excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

• Experience with Tableau reporting system.
• MCIPS or a similar business/procurement related qualification would be welcomed
