Job summary

BGEN Ltd. is seeking a proactive SHEQ professional to provide health, safety, environment and quality support across projects in the Midlands and South.

The role requires travel to operational sites and client locations, with emphasis on risk assessments, safe systems of work, and compliance with CDM 2015. You will lead toolbox talks, audits and continuous improvement, while working with project teams and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction certificate.
• 45001/14001/9001 ISO Auditing Experience.
• CSCS card or equivalent industry card.
• Membership with relevant body.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations 2015 and the practical application.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, CDM Regulations, company procedures and client requirements.
• Support operational teams with risk assessment processes, safe systems of work, and controls for high‑risk activities.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and behavioural safety tours, providing practical guidance to managers and site teams.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness sessions to promote a positive safety culture.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, contribute to performance reporting, and support client and regulatory audits.
• Drive delivery of SHEQ objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and clients, influencing safe behaviours and modelling company values.
