Job summary

Beacon Hill Academy is seeking an experienced, strategic Business Manager to lead the school’s business functions, including budgeting, estates, HR, health and safety, compliance and administration. You will line-manage the Administration team and work with the Principal and Leadership Team to deliver value for money and sustainable financial planning.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification in business management, finance, accountancy, HR or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to business management, finance, estates, or leadership.
• Relevant training or qualification in health and safety, premises management, or financial management.
• Strong IT skills and ability to use financial, HR and MIS systems effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for school business functions, including budgeting, estates, HR, health and safety, and administration.
• Line-manage Administration team and oversee budgeting and financial reporting to Governors.
• Develop long-term financial plans, options and risk assessments with the Leadership Group.
• Lead business improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with statutory and safeguarding requirements.
• Coordinate estates planning, maintenance, and future site development with relevant managers.
• Liaise with ESFA and prepare academy accounts in partnership with the Finance Manager.
• Present costed forecasts to Governors and support decision-making with clear reports.
