Job summary

Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Primary School is seeking a School Business Manager to oversee the school’s support functions, including finance, HR, admin, IT and facilities. You will plan and monitor budgets, supervise support staff, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

The role involves developing policies, reporting to senior leadership, and driving income generation activities while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• CSBM or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
• NOS in business and administration and knowledge/skills equivalent to level 4.
• Working towards Diploma of School Business Management.
• Specialist knowledge in finance, procurement and staff management.
• Management experience.
• Knowledge of statutory regulations (OFSTED, safeguarding, health and safety, data protection).
• Knowledge of school policies (behaviour, equal opportunities, attendance).
• Proficient in MS Office and/or in-house software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organise and manage systems for finance, HR, admin, IT and facilities management.
• Line manage school support staff including recruitment, induction, performance management and training.
• Manage procurement, licences, insurance and service contracts.
• Provide operational day-to-day support and advice to senior staff and Governing Body.
• Analyse data, prepare reports and monitor budgets.
• Develop operational plans for the school support function and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Support income generation activities and external contractor liaison.
