Job summary

Herefordshire Council's Education, Skills and Learning Service is seeking a School Improvement Advisor to contribute to performance and strategic management of education across the county. You will provide strategic direction, challenge schools to develop a self-improving system, and ensure statutory duties are met, working with heads of service to support LA maintained schools.

You will be a qualified teacher with leadership experience in school improvement, capable of embedding a performance

Qualifications

Qualified teacher with experience delivering and coordinating school improvement activities.
Proven track record of leading improvements within your current educational role and supporting more than one school.
Experience in senior leadership roles within a school or local authority.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction to strengthen and support the governance of schools in the county.
Provide challenge to all schools to develop a self-improving school system in the county.
Ensure statutory responsibilities concerning the performance of all schools/settings in Herefordshire are met.
Monitor, support and provide challenge to LA maintained schools where a need is identified.
Provide a traded service for school improvement within the county.
Ensure effective oversight and quality assurance of standards in alternative provision and specialist settings.
Ensure all children and young people are in receipt of a full-time education under s19 of the Education Act.
