Job summary

St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust is seeking a School Business Manager to oversee financial, HR, premises and administrative functions across Little Bloxwich CE Primary School and Abbey Primary School in the Walsall area. The role involves working with Headteachers, governors and Trust colleagues to ensure effective resource management and strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs or equivalent, including English and mathematics.
• Professional qualification in Business Management or related discipline.
• Experience in financial management, budget monitoring and reporting.
• Experience managing staff and leading teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Demonstrates initiative, integrity and independence.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High accuracy, confidentiality and commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school's financial systems, budgets and procurement processes.
• Monitor expenditure and provide detailed financial reports and analyses.
• Support strategic planning and long-term financial sustainability.
• Lead and manage administrative and support staff.
• Oversee HR processes, including recruitment and workforce management.
• Manage contracts and relationships with external providers.
• Support premises, health and safety, compliance and risk management.
• Ensure systems support efficient school operations.
• Collaborate with Trust colleagues to ensure statutory and Trust requirements.
• Contribute to strategic leadership and development of the school.
