Job summary

Amour Recruitment is recruiting for a Route Planner in Lancing, West Sussex to support a busy transport operation with daily route planning and vehicle scheduling.

You will allocate deliveries to drivers, monitor operations and respond to delays, with a focus on reducing wastage and improving service delivery. Experience in transport planning and strong IT skills are essential. Hours: 9:30-18:00, Monday to Friday. Salary up to £33,000 rising to £35,000 after probation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport planning, routing, traffic operations, or logistics coordination.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Good geographical knowledge and the ability to optimise routes effectively.
• Proficient IT skills, including experience with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Proactive problem-solving ability with a flexible approach to handling operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle schedules.
• Allocate deliveries and collections to drivers to maximise efficiency.
• Monitor transport operations and resolve any routing or service issues.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
• Respond to operational challenges, including delays, breakdowns, and schedule changes.
• Support continuous improvements in route planning, fleet utilisation, and customer service.
