Job summary

East of England Ambulance Service is seeking a Head of Risk Management to drive a proactive risk-based culture across the Trust. You will develop robust risk systems, lead horizon scanning and ensure governance frameworks support organisational accountability.

The role requires extensive experience in large, complex organisations, excellent communication, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high confidentiality. Flexible working requests are welcome.

Qualifications

• Masters level subject relevant to the post or equivalent NHS Risk Management
• Desirable Risk Management qualification
• Significant experience in similar roles in large complex organisations
• Experience of working in partnership with other organisations
• Practical experience of risk management
• Proven experience of writing comprehensive reports
• Demonstrates excellent planning and organisational skills and the professionalism to make adjustments if targets are not met
• Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Managing large teams and setting objectives
• Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising workloads and manage time effectively
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a proactive, learning oriented approach to risk management across the Trust.
• Drive forward risk education and capability at all levels.
• Develop robust systems and tools for horizon scanning and risk monitoring.
• Champion modern, evidence-based risk management methodologies.
• Build and embed a positive risk culture throughout the organisation.
• Ensure accountability for risk is owned by operational leaders and embedded in governance frameworks.
